uh oh.... After finishing the Japanese Type 95 and seeing how small this tank was I started looking through my stash for something "big". I found the Trumpeter 1/35 scale KV II "Big Turret" and got to work. The Big Turret..... The small Type 95 and the beginning of the KV II More to follow, I am adding the LionRoar PE set and will mount the tank on a base with a MiniArt 1/35 scale Soviet tank crew punching the tube.

Progress as of tonight... This has been a strange kit so far, it has nice detail but parts breakdown seems excesive to me. The way the parts are broke down would be great for someone wishing to really superdetail this kit. I also think the plastic used is very soft, a slip of the knife and you have a cut in the plastic. Mold quality is not the best, less than Tamiya/Hasagawa, but better than eastern european kits. It has still been a fun build so far, and I am looking forward to finish it.

;D Ok, I think my slump is over! I have started working again on the Soviet KV-II. First up on the table is building the tracks, my favorite part You have your choice of length and link or rubber bands. I am doing the length and link.... So, of course there is a ejector pin mark on each link! Lots of sanding. Uh Oh!! The terrorist has found the Tank factory too! Even the paint shop.... Cute little beast though.... Here is progress as of tonight.

Tonight, we worked on the track, they are base coated with Vallejo "gunmetal gray" and tonight I used "raw umber" and "burnt sienna" oil paints with the non smelling "turpinoid" to thin them for the wash.

well, I would like to do a winter one, but I don't have a "patrotic slogan" in a red decal, or other color. So I am leaning to doing it in summer.... Eventually there will be a crew "punching the tube" on a simple base.

I started on the crew.... And I am finishing the 4 step track process... Step 1 Clean up the ejector pin marks, Step 2 paint base coat of Vallejo "Natural steel" Step 3 add a wash of artist oil "black" and Step 4 wash again with artist oil "burnt sienna" and "raw umber", for the thinner I use the non smelling "turpinoid" good for husband and wife relations!! With Carlos helping by printing some "patriotic slogans" in red for me..... this KV will be in winter camo! Thank you Carlos.

OK, the tracks are done and installed..... FINALLY! Individual links or length and link track looks great, but there is a lot of clean up and new techniques learned to install them. Sgt Alexikonatok, first of the crew Where it is at today, I am working on some p/e engine louvers, engine exhaust, and side boxes. Once I receive the new Patriotic slogans, I will apply them and start the winter whitewash camo..
