F-4 J Phantom of VF-96

A friend who served aboard USS Constellation in 1971 asked me to build an aircraft from VF-96 for him.
I found this older kit in 1/72scale for him at OrangeCon this year so, construction begins.....

A little time for working on this tonight, finished up the cockpit, started the engines, and glued up the fuselage....







After gluing the fuselage together, there will be a lot of seam filling, I will have to replace the molded on detail along the spine of the aircraft, wings, and intakes.

The aircraft is done, and showed to my friend, it was a cool moment. I have the plane and am going to mount it on a flight deck base with a small vignette around "mail call"
