These are the pictures I took at Orangecon 2012, Wowmonkey has posted the pictures he took on our website, www.sdmodelclub.com if you care to see them too. They are in no particular order and are right from the camera. Some will look a little yellow, the venue this year had a mix of white and yellow lights.... 1/72 scale Abrams tank The cars, as always, had beautiful paint jobs on them. Even the tiny scale cars....... A fantastic pink ferrari from Tamiya, a fantastic model to see in person. Spitfire in 72 scale. A Martin Baker MB 5 in 1/72scale, this is the first time I have heard of this plane... Hasagawa, BF-109 IN 1/72.... a BIG F-4 Phantom in 1/32, this one will end up in the flying leathernecks air museum at Miramar MCAS. Awesome....... in 1/72 an F4U in 1/48th, there were not to many 48th scale this year. Hasagawa A6M2b in 1/48th. Nice.... Sabre in 72 scale. A very nicely finished Banshee (?)) in 72 scale. intermission is over.... back to posting. I don"t know the designation, but it is a 1/72 scale Anigrad kit, and very cool! Hey, isn't she at pure platinum??? You never saw the creature from the black lagoons wife, until now. Hmmmmm, ignore the details and this is a nice try. I had to get a picture of this, I have that Monroe Purdue diorama setting in the stash too..... But, what to put on it? This looks cold even in 1/72 scale. This is my tank, show me the Shermans!! Just at the end of registration, in sails a 1/350 USS Leahy CG, built from a resin kit in 1/350 scale. more tomorrow, to include USS California....

More pictures.... First up is a 1/350th scale model of the CGN USS California. HMS Ark Royal from the L'Arsenal kit in 1/700 resin. I find these kits of the Japanese building pretty cool, I am hoping to find one in 1/700 scale..... If I remember correct this is 1/150th. An Airfix armoured car, but with a slight twist..... very nice paint! Another shrine in 1/150th scale... A nice little armor diorama in 1/35th. Again, a nice diorama except it is 1/72 scale. An itty bitty Sherman killer in 1/72 scale. Ahhhh, finally, some Field Artillery. An original Mini Cooper. Some cars to follow..... sorry, I am not an expert on cars at all.... But, oh those paint jobs!! Now, this was a bit different.... Must be a land speed reconrd machine, but it looked fantastic. Swamp things.... Future tank, but it has nice lines to it. I have been wondering about this 1/72 scale kit by Dragon, being able to see it built is one of the main reasons I go to model contests! Big scale Helo by Panda models. Nice chopper in 1/72 scale. Thunderchief in 1/72....... One of my favorite aircraft! IJA Ki-84 in the big 1/32 scale.
