1898 Marine Finished

Here is the painted and finished US Marine from the 1898 Spanish American war during the fight for "Getmo". It is a 1/16Th sculpt using sprue as the primary medium for the figure, the base is from an old makeup jar of my wife, I made a mold of the Marine corps eagle globe and ancore and cast it to add to the base. The figure is painted in oils with baby powder added to the paint to make it flat and speed the drying.

I like him and will try the powder in my oils when I use them, I have not heard of that before. It will be helpful.

Thanks Dan: The thing to remember with oils: is to thin it almost to point of ink. Other wise it will clump up. It's easy to do and cuts drying time to about 24hrs, instead of a week or so.
