Well, we had another good meeting at the new digs, and met another newbie, Pete, AKA Panzerknacker. Some good looking models on the tables, and Brad brought some good mags for us all to drool... uh, look at. Lots of questions answered, and a semi ferocious round of kit trading went on. We discussed Winterfest III, and it seems a go. Further details TBA. And for all you model builders out there, we have a new group build: Tamiya- it must have motorization holes group build. The object is to build an OOOOLLDD Tamiya kit, and add as much or little detail as you choose. The only requirement is that the kit has to have motorization holes to qualify. details may be added, but must come from you: no PE sets, and other modern aftermarket stuff. If you want details they must be made from plastic, wire, alum can metal,ETC. We are allowing turned barrels as the only exception. This gives us a good group build and a chance to show and learn some new techniques. Bonus: the kits are easy to find, and not expensive. We need to get the admin types to set this up for the site. Cheers for now, Slowbuild.

What? no photos?
Is there a deadline for the Tamiya GB?
Although we never finished the 32nd scale Zeros, or the Panzer III's...and the Xmas xchange models?...oh yes, and the Hortens...
Hmm... maybe we need an "incentive" this time...I don't know... a coupon or gift certificate for a hobby store...

Jose, we didn't really discuss things like deadlines, it was more of a "Let's see what can be done with a basic kit" sort of thing.

ok ok Give me a few minutes for the pictures will ya!! ;D I apologise for the quality, my wife was using the camera so these shots are from my i phone. Lets see, we had Brads buikds of the Dragon Japanese amphib tank. John broght in the vintage Tamiya, M-41 Walker Bulldog... This Finnish assualt gun by Brad. Tamiya 1/35th. Mike built this Soviet I- something or other in, of course, 1/32 scale. Mike also had his Wingnutt Wings 1/32 scale Junkers J-1. These Wingnutt Wings kits look awesome.... I want to try one, they look very detailed, a good size, and still look like they will be fun to build. The rest of the pictures did'nt turn out.... Brad had a Matilda I, and Phil brought in a BMP and a KV under construction.... I had my build of the IJN cruiser Nagara there also, you can see my progress in the ships topic here. The meeting was fun and productive, I will be adding the new Tamiya, "Anything with motorization holes" armor group build topic this week. Also, the Winterfest III topic will be added this week. The date will be late January, the week before the Super bowl. We also met "PanzerKnacker" at this meeting and hope he returns. See you all next month!
