Here is what I started with, more or less. and after redoing some work, adding some bits, and a little paint, here is where I'm sort of at now. More to come!

Well, a little more progress to share. I see now that I really made a mistake attaching the fuse to the lower wing, and trying to fair it in. I should have taken steps to ensure a decent fit, and then carefully trimmed the inside of the female part of the pylon to represent scale thickness, and then painted the fuselage, then glued it up. Oh well, I'll have to go with what I have. I did get everything closed up, and have been working on some other bits, including the engine. I'm basically just following Des' build. I found some .010 thou. plastic rod, and am using that for the lifters, and supports. Alclad for the block and head, with Floquil Grimy black brushed over the head, with a light rubbing with a Q-tip. 8 thou. wire for the valve springs. I still have the magnetos, and associated wiring to do, then it hopefully with wiggle into the fuse. To break from this small work, I try to move forward on other assemblies. The engineering of this kit is such that I think I'll be assembling completed components as I near the finish line.

Some progress. This is a fictional serial( no pics of it) but the paint and construction are typical of this serial range.

Thanks guys. I have finished the engine, and just glued it in. 1/2 will be open, and 1/2 closed. There are lots of fiddley bits to attend to, but I'm getting to the point where I will stick on the big wingy part. The factory markings are very neat in all my photo ref's.
