The revell re-issue of the Nieuport 28 C-1. This looks like a nice little kit in this scale, except for the cockpit. The decals sheet looks very nice. To be built out of the box. The components Notice the "cockpit details" sitting on the wing.... Decals for 1 US air corps aircraft. So far it has been a fun little build, but rigging is next, so we will see because this is one tiny aircraft!

A little work on the Nieuport today..... I took out the brush and paints and started on the 5 color camo. I airbrushed French lt blue-gray to the undersides and then used Vallejo Brown, MM Med green, Dk green, Pale green, and Dk tan. The cowling is Vallejo White. Camo underway..... Camo is done..... Put a stick up the butt of the pilot so I can paint him up next..... Since I decided to drill thru the wings to rig this aircraft my next step is to assemble the upper wing to the fuselage and do the rigging. Once it is installed I will sand away where the rigging comes thru the upper and lower wings, touch-up the paint if needed and apply the decals. This will be the first time I used this technique, usually I only drill part way into the upper wing and thru the lower one. I am hoping this will give me tighter rigging when complete...... No more "strings lose" on the Winterfest judge sheet..... ;D

Thanks Capt.... Good thing you can't see it up close!! Here is the rest, it is now done. The kit MG's... 1Lt Edward Rickenbacker (26 victories), 1st pursuit group, 94th Aero Squadron, France 1918. Nice, simple little kits that look pretty good when done. Lets call this one done!
