So I have a couple of "Quick builds", a Me 163 Komet and a STM-150 (PT-20) both from Testors in 1/48 scale. The Komet is OOB, but I am going to add a pilot, otherwise I'll end up with a very empty cockpit. Uploaded with ImageShack.usThe STM requires a little conversion, just erase some fuselage details from the original PT-20 not present in the STM. I will also scratch-build instrument panels and seats, since this airplane has an open cockpit and the lack theroff would be a joy killer. Uploaded with ImageShack.usNow... the schemes...well...you'll see later ;D

Forget the pilot for the Komet, the cockpit is black and with the windshield...well, one can't see anything. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

The Komet is taking the lead here... with the wings assembled Uploaded with ImageShack.usI really like the details on the slats... Uploaded with ImageShack.usThen, the "pre-shading" and some "spotting" to give some character to the lonely gray. Uploaded with ImageShack.usAnd the base underside color in thin layers to let the pre-shade effects show through. Uploaded with ImageShack.usBut now I have to focus on the STM to have it ready by next week for the Coronado library.

looks good from here....
A tech question for you.... What brand and colors do you use for the red and green in your insignias and tail stripes??
I am looking at the Aztec decals for the 201 Sqd P-47 and there is only 1 set of insignias and tail stripes..... so, I need to paint my own. I want to do a "Tacos for Tojo" diorama with a couple of bolts from the 201st.

The french Komet or "Le Komet" is now done... Did I say FRENCH Uploaded with ImageShack.usThe "take off" gear and the landing skid have been weathered to represent a muddy field use. Uploaded with ImageShack.usA bit of sooth for the rocket exhaust Uploaded with ImageShack.usAnd the empty cockpit Uploaded with ImageShack.usI was very surprised with the simplicity of this model, and after a little TLC, it came out to be a decent looking bird
