So? What's on the agenda for this Friday?  ... I have a couple of models to show and we need to talk about WinterFest 2011.  We are axactly 6 months away and we have many things to prepare. I hope to see you all! ;D |

We have to go to MCRD at 6, but will get to the meeting when we can. I'm working on 2 different ideas for awards, we can discuss them at the meeting.

June's meeting has come and gone..... We discussed awards for winterfest and will have samples prepared of the gold, silver, and bronze for July's meeting. Mike is going to grind us out a "Best of Show" award..... We also talked a bit about the Discount hobbies warehouse "Fathers Day Swap Meet", is anybody going to sell some plastic? And a different kind of contest being held by the Flying Leathernecks Museum at Miramar, build a 1/48th Hornet and a 1/48th Osprey, one in USMC the other in USN centennial markings and win some good prizes, to include $100, and then we even talked about models.... Well, after we had a snack....  The wait begins.....  The Spirit of St. Louis and any of you remember these old plastic toy soldiers..... molded in 1963!  The discussion begins....     Some resin diversion..... Midship Models 1/700 Battleship USS Arizona kit.  The Trumpeter 1/32 scale SBD Dauntless brought in by Mike...  Naw, really it is Jose's..... but I bet you all thought it was Mikes!  SBD's engine....  Thanks for coming in everyone...... |
