This was my first "toy". I saw it first at an IPMS SD meeting and went on e-bay to get mine.
Takara made about 4 versions of Yamato from early to final version. As with all Takara toys, each segment is boxed separately and secretly. To think, all I had as a kid was baseball cards!
This kit is in 1/700th scale. It could be very nice if someone wanted to add p/e to the ship.
Many features can come apart like the turret, pieces of the superstructure, funnel.....
The Yamato is part of a series of "the final sortie" of the IJN. Yamato, Yahagi, and the destroyers all have models in this series.
