I have some pictures of the IPMS San Diego "Model Expo 2011" model contest which is held each year at Gillespie Field in El Cajon, Calif.
It is done in conjunction with the San Diego Air and Space Museums annual swap meet. If you like aeronautical stuff this is a great swap meet, it is our biggest (almost only) model swap meet in San Diego.
I had a nice time, I picked up some "wanted" kits and helped IPMS SD judge the Armor categories.
Here are the pictures.... (in no particular order, just how photobucket uploaded them hehehehe)
This is probably my favorite aircraft in the show. It is a beautiful Spad in post WWI markings, the kit is by Eduard in 1/72 scale.
Academy, M-10 Tank Destroyer in 1/35th
Achilles in 1/35th
Matilda in 1/35th
M-48 in Vietnam by Tamiya in 1/35th
Oddball's Sherman in 1/35th
Big German tank in 1/35th.... strange it was in the OOB category??
Of course there was a Me-109, very nice in 1/72
A PE Spirit of St Louis in 1/144th scale(?)
F6F, Hellcat by Academy in 1/72 "Blue Angels"
Devastator... Airfix 1/72 scale TBD.
Carrier Akagi by Hasagawa in 1/350th. Nicely built with PE and a wooden flight deck added.
Field Marshall Rommel showed up.... 1/24th(?) Revell
Don't know what it is, but a nice armored car in 1/35th
