Group;
Seem's like my other photo's are to large. How do I get around this so I could post more?

Sam: I use imageshack to upload my pics; it gives you the option to re-size your photos to a more forum friendly size. I will like to bring to the attention, that Sam's Kongo has the perfect amount of weathering for the scale.

Nice build of a tough older kit, I like the deck color you used. What paints was it?

Thank's for the comments. The deck was painted by bruch using as a first light coat of Model Masters Wood Color. I let it dry then added a sand color and let it dry and then as a last step added a light brown but almost dry brushed it over the deck.
Others who have seen my ships at home have said the decks look spot on as far as a wooden deck. I have not taking on the challange of as yet to weather the deck or to get that teak wood look. From what I have read, many IJN ships had teak decks.
With the Akagi build, I will venture out and try new painting and scratch building skills. Remember, I'm a rattle can and brush painter. I have a pretty good system that works and the results look pretty good. I'm starting to learn that it really is on how you prep your paint (good mixing and light coats) for brush painting. For the rattle can, I warm the paint up by putting the can in a bowl of warm water for about 15-30 min, and by spraying light coats and keeping the can 8"-10" away from the kit. I had a very bad experince with an air brush that I picked up from HF. I used can air as my source. Could not get the air to have enough psi, can kept freezing up, put it on a worm plate of water, that did not help. Paint was not getting sucked up to the brush and then the mixing and clean up.......I threw in the towel. I started finding out for 1/700 I was doing OK with the way I had it worked out. Also after reading some on line builds and talking with some modelers from the EU, they also painted by rattle can and brush, with amazing results. I have seen some of the work they had posted and it was a true art form. I need to take a course or sit in with someone who knows what they are doing with an airbrush. I know it is holding me back on some bigger scale ship models I want to build and would do the kit no justice if you do it by rattle can and brush.

Sammuel: For the pictures the best you can use is photobucket.com is the easy and fast way to upload pictures. Your model looks good, but we need more pictures to apreciate the work you done on it. Thanks...
