I think the dauntless is a good choice few parts, good molding (strong) and ease of assembly (besides gabe you donĀ“t know anything about airplane kits.. ja ja ja!)

I can get these at the navy base.... The dauntless and corsair are $4.00 and the spitfire is $7.00....
the dauntless would be the easiest to finish in one night, and a totally horrible kit as I remember!

I would go with anything 1/72 scale, but unless there are any changes, I am schedulled to go to Japan to transfer a prisoner. I'll leave San Diego on the 7th,then, from Yokuska to Seattle on the 10th, to pick up another prisoner, and return to San diego on the 11th. If I go, I dont think I'm going to make it to the meeting.

So my tri[p has been moved to the 14th Jun, and yes, I have a couple of days off while I am over there, the base is in Yokosuka and so far I have only found some stores in Yokohama and Tokyo, so I hope I can find my way around and see what's over there worth the trip.
So what do we have to bring to build that model? Like I said, anything in 1/72 will be fast enough for 1 night build.

I will pick up a squadron of the Dauntless kits this weekend.... lets everyone bring the tools you want, that way if someone forgets something there will be backups from other people.
finish in one night!

We may need to make this a Horten group build fest....... They have taken the kits off the shelf to put them on clearance, I guess like Miramar they won't be carrying models anymore. I will get back to talk with the manager and see if he will sell them to me before the clearance sale which is Saturday....
Info to follow

So, now what? A Horten build for one night could be done only if it is the PM kit. I have one already (and saw several at last saturday's swap meet). Other option could be PM Model's kit of the Yak-15 It was on sale at squadron at 1.99 each last month.
