U-505, a great story in the U S Navy history. The first man of war captured on the high seas since the war of 1812. U-505 was brought to the surface by actions of a USN "hunter-killer" ASW task force centered on the escort carrier USS Guadacanal and 4 destroyer escorts. After the aircraft and destroyers brought U-505 to the surface the crew placed scutteling charges and abandoned ship. A crew of volunteers in a boat from USS Pillsbury (I think) rushed to U-505 went aboard, stopped the charges and brought her back to the US........ And now she rests at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. The video was the move to put her indoors and out of the weather. U-505 is a type IX C Come on Revell, lets get one in 1/72 scale!
