This has been on the shelf for a long time, "in progress". My goal is to have it done by years end. It is at the apply paint and decals stage and then adding the final details. This squadron was the only Navy unit to have "nose art" on their planes, they were aboard USS Princeton, CVL-23. When Princeton was sunk off the Philippines, the aircraft that landed on other carriers had the nose art painted out. I will do mine as a -5 hellcat in overall Dk Sea Blue, the kit also gives you the option of doing a -3 hellcat in the 3 tone camo. The kit is from Academy in 1/72 scale.

Final portraits...... F6F-5, Ens. Paul Drury, VF-27, USS Princeton, Oct. 1944 The only carrier squadron to have nose art. Overall a great kit!! Shortcomings? A few, I think the panel lines around the fuselage are way to heavy (seems like ALL makers of F6F or F4F kits make them to heavy) the rockets are the British type, and the fit of the cowling is not great. Pros? Good fit overall, great detail, good options on underwing armaments, decals are excellent, and as always with Academy PRICE!
