Time to start mine, hopefuly finish it by December to celebrate Pearl Harbor. The first step for me was to fill those holes for the screws; I just used the plastic parts provided in the kit and sealed them with CA. Then, I coated the canopy with future and let it dry for 48 hrs. I ussually keep the treated parts in a container so that the dust does'nt get to them.

A few more steps added to this project. The endless masking of the canopy and sealed with white glue. Then some interior paint in alumminum and metallic green-blue. It's hard to cover with paint this d*&^ white plastic! And the base coat to the pilot...not Koga... he is death...another pilot...one gringo

This week I painted some more, first, the cockpit group. I really like the detail in this "cheap" model. This is the landing gear group And finally, the engine group

More advances... I think I found the gap on the wings that Dan was talking about; I had to seal it with a stripe of plastruc and super glue. The wing on the left is before sanding, the one on the right, after... There is also a gap under the engine cowling... And once together, some primer to look for flaws...

Here I go, a few steps closer to the end... The next thing in the agenda was to paint the base colors, no biggie here so I didn't take a picture (not really, I forgot ) but I can tell you that this time I didn't pre-shade the panels as I ussualy do, you'll see why... Then, since I didn't have the size of decal roundels I wanted, I decided to paint them: First the white Some stars made of frisket film ( notice the math involved ) And voila, American roundels for Koga's plane. As I said before, I didn't use pre-sading this time because I wanted to try a different kind of "post-shading". I mixed 70% of the base color and 30 % white to make a lighter shade, and this was the result: With this done, the finals steps are very simple, Koga's secrets are coming to an end soon.
