Well, I had already started my type 97, when Gabriel gave me more inspiration to continue this proyect for TamiyaCon(RIP). I am using "Eduard" PE as well as a "Fine Models" PE set, a metal barrel and Modelkasten individual tracks. Here you can see the suspension spring made with wire. This is a front view of the metal barrel and some PE in the turret. The tow cable and lights with more PE details. Exhaust and mufflers made out of brass. Engine grill... Mudguard or fender supports. And hinges for the handle bars. More to come soon!

This weekend I had a chance to continue a bit with my proyect, added the handle bars made out of wire. This is some PE for the jack. Then, I heated up the fenders with a soldering pencil, and once the plastic was softening, I hitted it with a tool to imitate bended metal. Here is the modified headlight, and some PE details. Some more damage to the fenders. The road wheells and rollers got some damage too, using a dremel tool to beat them up a bit. Maybe hard to see, but I added some small arms damage to the turret and hull. Until next week!

I moved a little foward with the tracks this weekend, most of the time sanding and separating the 196 links needed fot the Shinoto. The next step is to start the asembly and then the paint. More photos to come.

Yes, the tracka are from Modelkasten and they look great, butthe assembly...well... These are the instructions: The track, the pins and the guide. If you want a tight fit, you put together 92 links, or 93 for a loose fit. And the end result is a highly flexible track ready to be painted.
