I have decided since there is 4 months until the time frame of this aircraft at the Coronado Library display to try and include it along with an LPH in 1/700. Here is the start....

Update on the Seahorse.... this kit has some weird plastic, very thin and soft. It is almost like the Tamiya cement doesn't want to work with it. Anyway, interior is in and the fuselage glued together. I have found my secret stash of "old USMC green" and am using it now. It is enamel, yuk, it makes me happy for the acrylic paints!

The helo is coming along ok..... progress as of tonight. Most of the assembly is done along with the "marine corps green" base coat. I am checking to see if I can gloss it now and do the decals on Thursday. The kit is very soft plastic, and has some fit issues and omissions from the instruction sheet..... small things, like "don't forget to open the holes you need on the fuselage before you glue together", but you of course find out! If I can get the Boxer done to go with this, I will be one happy camper!

At least one of us is posting something I will have to redeam myself after this Saturday... About those missing holes, maybe you can use a very small flashlight and illuminate the fuselage inside-out and the markers will show...maybe

I haven't forgot about the Seahorse either, I finally have all of the "glass" installed and masked off for clearcoat. I will do that and apply the decals this week and it will be nearly done for our meeting.
