I am bored..... time for a new project!!!! hehehehe, well time to get a future project started. I am taking the old, but decent Tamiya kit of the aircraft carrier Junyo and back dating the kit from its 1944 appearence to how she appeared off the coast of America in 1942. The modifications are fairly simple and things should go smoothly...... The kit and my main (only) reference book. Model Art #27. Some of the p/e add ons. This is the flight deck wind deflector. Safety netting for aircraft and personnel. Landing gear for the airwing. and weapons for the airwing.... Line drawing of how she should appear.... First mods were to remove the AA rockets and gun tubs forward that were added to her late in the war. Next is to remove this structure from the island/deck. This again was a late war modification. I think I want to pose the forward and aft elevators in their down postition..... I will be asking some questions on this forward elev. It is a solid box in the kit, but common sense tells me that can't be right..... howwww you getta the planes in the box? So, something tells me I will have to cut away a wall or two. Somehow I have to remove that bow 25mm AA foundation... without destroying the area around it. The stern, there has got to be more than what Tamiya gives you for under there.... With all of my other projects, this will be a long term build, I started to 1. work on the aircraft and 2. to identify questions for my IJN knowledge base in NYC.
