Once upon a time, there were two cobras: One lived in the city, and she use to race for fun, her skin was highly polished and was living a life of luxury. The second one, use to live in the desert away fro any mantenance and making a living fighting other creatures in the skies But deep inside both were the same...(no, really... is the same mold) and only their different lifestyles could separate one from the other.

For the city cobra I wanted to keep the interior simple, since the main focus would be on the outside, the racing scheme. So I decided to use only the PE provided in the Edward's profipack. For the country cobra, the oposite, the war scheme is not complicated at all so I should bring some attention to interior detailing. I will be using a combination of edward PE, Cutting Edge resins and Verlinden's upgrade set. Once the basic construcion ( and some surgery adjustments) were made, I painted the interiors with the closest match I found to the special green that Bell used in the cobras. I guess that once under the same color in the inside all cobras look the same.

Maybe for variety do one in flat black, many cobra interiors were black. I love this aircraft and will be watching this build!

The city cobra kept her cockpit clean, since racing one season a year does not damage too much the interiors. But the country cobra had to battle every day, so her cockpit was more worn out. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

Very cool project Jose. I have one as well, in the manly scale. 357th FG trained with these in So Cal, early in the war.

The city cobra had to be light to gain speed: Uploaded with ImageShack.usNo glass shield, no guns...not even radio equipment (at least not the military one in the back of the cockpit) Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usThe country cobra was always ready for combat: Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usMachine guns and cannon fully loaded... Here you can see the difference between the Verlinden flaps in the first cobra and the edward flaps in the second one: Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usThe seats were also different, I decided to use the old style harness (left) in the country cobra and the newer style harness (right) in the city cobra. Uploaded with ImageShack.usThe wings are now attached to the fuselages. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usThe country cobra gets the Cutting Edge control surfaces. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usThe yellow masking was provided in the Accurate Miniatures cobra, while the profipack gave me P-40 masks instead of P-39's, so I used the AM ones as templates to make the other set from blue masking tape. This is how the story ends: "The two cobras finnally met: Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usBoth could see differences, the city cobra had a supercharger underneath, the country cobra extra fuel tanks and .50 cals. Except for the panel lines not being dark enough ;D Beautiful work, my eyes maybe old in person, but those close up pictures show great detail and workmanship!

;D What? a two peet!!!! The City Cobra racer won a 1st place in Prop aircraft at the 2011 IPMS SD "Model Expo"........
This city slicker even showed its military past by surviving an attack by the arch nemisis "Jerry J." at the contest, and despite the damage to the flaps she came thru for the win!
Both wins with beautiful models, congrats Jose!
