I finally put the finishing touches on the water, she is now moving.... The final "Portraits", skills learned from Gabriel's "school of model photography" This old Hasagawa kit is not the bad, but not that good. Building a second one would turn out a better ship. Information, at least for me, was hard to find on this ship for her WWII appearance. Tenryu is configured as she appeared during the Battle of Wake Is. on Dec.10th, 1941. The Japanese's first defeat! After this the Tenryu operated around the Solomons and is (in some sources) credited in torpedoing one of the New Orleans class Heavy Cruisers in the battle of Savo Island. Tenryu was sunk by the USS Albacore SS-239 in early 1942.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent article!!! I am “terrified” of doing a sea diorama but you explained it so well – just might have to sacrifice one of my ships and try the blasted thing!! Wonder why mine doesn’t look like yours!!!!!
