OK, it´s painting time!! After covering all prepainted zones with silly putty (available at Wal-Mart) now I proceed with the painting process.. Co..ckpit covered.. Vertical and Main engines exhaust covered.. Sand color applied, this is the base color and was done with PollyS 505356 (FS32473) Soviet Brown #2 Brown patches applied with Polly S 505240 (FS30140) Earth Brown next comes the two green tones... Happy New Year !!!!!!!

Nice KGR!!! I like the colors you use, they look great on the model I'm just waiting to see the green and also some weathering on it. And why not a nice base with some figures to add life to the diorama... Keep on the good work master...

OK well.. here´s the green.. medium green actually done with my Central Pneumatic airbrush and pollyscale color soviet green (FS34226) PollyS #505358 I masked up the cabin glass put a coat of the interior color and then will be covered with the external camo.. Next is the dark green color..

I thought this project was stalled..... I know it is the monitor, but that sand paint looks orange on my screen!! I am looking forward to seeing this kit at the contest on June 7th!

Well Dan actually this Orange shade is the Soviet Sand! it is called " Soviet Brown #2" and yes it looks more orange than beige as we are acustomed to see but that is how the scheme shows it. I did not wanted to use any US sand colors to respect the differentiation between NATO and Warsaw colors.
Gabriel.. for the weathering I am planning on adding some shading and ltle wear with pastels and a light coat of dust first to clear up a litle the colors and blend them together. Plus all the details that have to be painted before weathering!!

Here is the aircraft with the next color applied which is Polly S #505360 (Dk Green ) Soviet Khaki. Next will be details, decals and weathering..

Sorry I have been finishing another project which is the Dornier Do.17F in Condor Legion finish as well a Pletyakov Pe-2 in Winter camo and of course my Tamiya project, but I will get back at the Yak by this weekend ;D ;D
